Late-night comfort
It’s July 2025, I’m home for the Summer holidays, ready for some rest from my fast-paced MA. I meet some friends and have lots of fun! I go to bed for a well-earned rest...
I can’t sleep.
So I made a film about it!
I worked on Late-night comfort on and off during my Summer break, and despite being inspired by a stressful situation, it was a lot of fun to make! I mixed 2D and a little bit of 3D animation, with the rough animation for the character done in TVPaint and drawn and painted over with ink on tracing paper. After scanning it, I added lots of textures, had some fun animating steam coming out of a tea-pot in TVPaint, and ended up with a delicious collage of textures for this short short!
It was also selected for PIAFF 2026! Yay!
